Pat Cunningham (OX 1990) 2021 Xaverian Award Winner
Monday, 10 October 2022
Congratulations to Pat Cunningham (OX 1990) who has been awarded the Xaverian Award for 2021.

The Xaverian Award is for a past student of the College who has shown a deep commitment to the ideals of St Ignatius of Loyola, primarily through a generosity of spirit manifested in a dedication to making a difference in the wider community through compassion, competence and conscience.

During his career working at the AFL, Pat Cunningham first crossed paths with Neale Daniher. He joined the FightMND Board in early 2015, and has a personal connection to MND through his wife Angie who sadly lost her battle with MND in 2016.

Pat has spearheaded the project management of the Foundation’s largest public fundraiser – Big Freeze at the G, and also leads the FightMND Care Committee in overseeing the Foundations Care portfolio and grant application/award processes.

Due to COVID lockdowns last year, yesterday's Rectors Assembly finally provided an opportunity to present Pat the prize in person, with his family present. The school community was incredibly blessed to hear Pat speak about the highs and lows of his journey.

We thank him for this.

A true Xaverian indeed.
